I don't think so. That seems to be what the industry THINKS one needs to look like. I have seen some pretty talented singers but the songs are just commercial pap. Little more than a driving beat and rapidly recited lyrics. Seems a shame. Some of those women have very good voices.

On the other hand, some are more "entertainers" than singers. That is Okay, too. The music industry has always had such people and many have been quite successful. The problem today is that distinction has been lost.

Madonna and Brittany for example are entertainers. Aguliera and Knowles are actual singers. The singers should explore their music a bit more and the "block-buster show biz" a bit less. There results would be quite amazing, I am sure.

Why the truly talented feel the need to act like skanks and call that 'expressing themselves' or 'making a statement' is getting pretty old.

I don't know about you, but personally, I would enjoy hearing some of the more talented singers doing a classy Night-Club type act in Las Vegas or someting.

Yes and no. I´m a semi known singer in a metal band here in Gdl, and I don´t dress like a stripper, but I do dress exotic, it´s a show thing- you´re a different character on stage, but that doesn´t mean you have to be half naked to get attention, not if you´ve got some talent, at least. But a lot of girls do dress in such a way they should be embarrassed, but unfortunately, sex sells, and nobody cares if they can sing or not.

no!...we dont need any more!..its soooo annoying! i hate that!they only do that because, they want attention, fans, guys, and whenever they ask, "do i sing good?" and someone honestly says, "no" they get all surprised!they breakdown, get fat, and dress like a stripper, (while being fat) and then nobody likes them...then, you will be all over the magazines as, "americas meltdown, screw up, success flop etc....they will only like you for your body, not your talent...

Apparently it's the only way you will get anywhere in the business. It's really sad that people actually believe that crap.
