Ok I am on yasmin birth control, and I will stay on birth control untill I graduate from college. This is my first time on a real perscription that has refills, I have a week and a half to get my refill, what do I have to do to get my refill? Do I just call the pharmacy a day before hand and tell them i am calling in for a refill or what? Would they have it ready?

Another question, if I go to planned parenthood to get birthcontrol and they give me something other than yasmin (at the moment my fiance and I can't really afford to pay $60 a month for it yet) will it take a whole month again for it to take real effect?

I don't have insurance anymore and it might a little bit before I get insurance so going to the doctor every so often isn't really an option I can afford

Most GYN Doc's or, even planned parenthood will not give refills ( well, maybe one ) unless you have your annual Pap Smear. You can call the place that prescibed the Yazmin and ask if they can give you refills. But, it you are not up-to-date on your Pap, then be prepared to have them refuse refills. I hope that this answered your question.

Assuming you have refills, just call up the pharmacy a few hours before and have them prepare the refill. My store would keep the prescriptions for 10 days before sending them back to stock. Even if you don't pick it up in time, the refill will still be on your record.
Yasmin and Yaz are the two most expensive birth control medications. Most of the generic birth control medications have cash prices below $30.

If you have refills, call up the pharmacy and have them refill it. I would call in for the refill about one week prior to needing them, so you have them at your house when its time to get on the new pack. I've seen lots of women complain that they couldn't get their new pack in time and I feel this will stop that from happening.

Next, you say $60 is too much. IMO you'd be spending a lot more on prenatal care and baby stuff :)

If you have no refills, you'd need to call up your doctor and ask for them to call in for a refill for you.

you can call for a refil.
Planned parenthood should carry YAZ. If they dont', you can take wahtever they give you that you decide on, so long as you start it when you would have started your next pack of YAZ. You will be safe as long as you keep it on the same schedule.

When I used to go to Planned Parenthood, I would go directly to them every month and pick up my pills. Yeah, you can change the type of pill you use no problem. I did it a few times with out any complications.

You can call like 1hour ahead of time and they should have it ready for you or you can just go in and they will fill the prescription while you wait. If you switch birthcontrol, it depends what your switching to, you may have to wait. Your doctor or pharmacist can tell you
