I drive a new mazda RX8 and I valet all of the time. I would say 3-4 times a week. I don't see the risk being very high. Valets spend more time driving cars everyday than I do, so I feel safe with my car in their hands, Sure, there are probably some bad stories out there, but I love the convenience and will valet any chance i get!!

They generally don't want someone else driving their car because valets aren't always careful with the cars. Some tend to drive them like they're someone else's car (you get what I mean) and they tend to park them very close to other cars so that there is more room. Some also just don't want to tip or are afraid the valet will be snooping around in their car. Most valets are really fine and chances are nothing will happen to your car, but sometimes things do.

I went to Bridal Shower that had a valet and they basically forced you to use him, but by the time we left, there was no valet and he had parked all of the cars so tightly in rows that no one could get out without waiting for the person in front of them to leave.

I completely understand. Cars are a very personal thing to a lot of people, and having some buffoon drive it that they dont know doesnt ogre well with some people.

I used to work at a luxury hotel and the valet personnel would sometimes lose car keys, ruin transmissions (stick shift), would not put the seats back the way they found them, etc

Quite frankly, I will park my own car. Thank you. I dont want squatters on my lawn or in my house. Dont want them parking my car either

I don't want anyone in my car going through my stuff, or doing unmentionable things in my car. I'll park it myself, thank you!

Because they are cheap and don't want to tip, or they get all freaked out over identity theft, blah blah blah. Make 'em walk.
