I use a HP laptop and a Sony mouse (cos at the time HP mouse was out of stock), and often when I click something with the mouse, it double-clicks on its own... sometimes even when I click a program (say, Word) on the taskbar to minimise the window, the window will minimise and maximise immediately cos the mouse double-clicked.

Anyone else have this problem with their mouse?

Check out the Start--> Settings--> Control Panel--> Mouse--> Device Settings--> and look for mouse or touch sensitivity (You may also find such a thing elsewhere in the Mouse part of the Control panel. Try adjusting it more to your liking. (When you find, the correct window in there, it'll have a little screen where you can test the sensitivity by tapping the mouse as you slide the scale from less sensitive to more, to adjust...)

It will happen with almost any mouse you get. My internal one on my lab top does it as well. if it does it a lot you need a new mouse, but if it is a few time a day do not worry about it. Also it can be from how you click it, it might be reading a click when you press down and then another click when you lift up.

as long as your mouse isnt configured funky, then you probably have a bad mouse. they do wear out, have seen a lot of these.
