I have been riding for nearly 60 years (with a 10 year break when my family was growing up) and presently ride a BMW R100RT which I bought new in 1980. It has only been used for serious riding e.g. round much of Southern Britain, Western Europe and one memorable return trip from Vancouver to just North of Los Angeles. I ride all year round except in ice and snow and it still gives me a big bang. My wife used to ride with me until about 10 years back but she now has a bone problem and can't risk coming out on the bike. Before I bought the RT I had a number of BM's but the bike I had the most fun on was a Triumph Trophy TR5 which I bought in 1951. I used it for touring , trials, the occasional grass track event and a few scrambles (Motocross). I didn't win any races but I had a lot of fun. Now I just go touring, often ride 400/500 miles in a day, preferably on "fun" roads( i.e. twisty). I've only been knocked off by cars twice with only
a few bruises. The last time was the funniest; I was turning into a side road (my priority) when a red Nissan van came out of the turning and hit me just ahead of the handle bars. I went left from the impact (which wasn't that hard )and ended up on my left side. As I was picking the bike up the van driver came over to help me and said " I don't know how to tell you this but I'm a motorcyclist!". This just cracked me up; I couldn't stop laughing. Damage was minimal, I had a couple of bruises and his van suffered more than my bike. I took the bike to a nearby friend's place to straighten the front forks and wrote it off to experience. I'm 78 now so have no idea how much longer I can continue but it's for sure it will be for as long as possible!

Give your bike a hug from us,( but not when it's hot)
I,ve got a custom 91 H.D.FXR , The old lady has a tricked out 90 FXR and our pit bull has a 91 H.D. XL 1200.
We're out of Southern California and ride most of Ca. , Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico on a somewhat regular basis ,but have at least passed through Utah, Idaho, Montana ,Nebraska Wyoming, Colorado and South Dakota.
Some day when time permits ,I'd like to spend 6-8 months on the road and ride the entire U.S. but I've got a business to run.

Hey there, I spent many happy months riding my zx6r round Cambridge while working up there. Cambridge is a truly lovely city with the added benefit of some great bike roads nearby. Now I am down here in Kent ,( for the benefit of our american cousins, thats where the white cliffs of Dover are). Ride safe Gixxer

I ride a custom '87 HD, FXRS most of the time. I have a couple more that I take out for short rides, both of those are also Harleys. I ride around the hills of SE Ohio near the Ohio River. It's the best place in the country to ride,(my opinion of course).

I've got a '78 Yamaha SR500. I love my little girl! I live in the high desert in So. California. Our riding season is 12 months if you're not a bleedin', wingin' Nancy Boy! It gets alittle chilly in the winter months, but generaly no snow and icey only at night and in the early am. The only time I get in my car is if it's acutally raining or it won't fit in the saddlebags.

Yamaha V-Star 1100 - Dragstar to the Brits.
I ride whenever I get the chance. I ride for fun, for errands, commute to work, any chance I get. favorite places are out in the country on a hilly curvy road. Very peaceful.
