Nope, January's the coldest month in New York. The average daily high in February is 41 degrees, and the average daily low (usually overnight) is 28 degrees. Of course you could hit a cold snap; these are averages. I also have to disagree about the dress thing. Women wear dresses in Winter! Especially if you're going to a fancy restaurant or something, I think it's completely appropriate to wear a dress. If it's icy or snowy, you might want to wear boots on the street and then change to shoes, and hopefully you'll have a warm long coat -- but plenty of girls run around half dressed in Winter. Of course they drop dead from hypothermia, but at least they look good! That last sentence is a joke. But it IS true that women wear skimpy things even in the Winter in New York.

I close the doors to my little kitchen and turn on the gas burner.
I then sit and watch TV, until I'm warm enough to get back to the cold computer room, to do more Y! A's.

Get the tube to Heathrow and fly to somewhere hot and tropical ... don't return here until at least mid-July when hopefully the rest of us will have thawed out (brrrrrrrr).
