When you look back a hundred years ago, even fifty years ago, if you did not have straight A's you were looked down upon as stupid. It was always expected for you to have straight A's. Today in high school, I've noticed in my class that everyone is just overall lazy, and I go to one of the best schools in the country. Just taking a look generally there are too many lazy and uneducated people.
But then again, when you look at the technological advances of our time, people hundreds of years from now will wonder how we even survived.

I think todays generation is actually brain smarter than past generations. The problem I see is that although our children have been exposed to more a younger ages, they are actually less mature than we were at that age. When I was 18, you worked, moved out on your own and did not rely on your parents like kids today do. Somehow, they have become smarter but less mature. Probably because we have given them too much. Our fault.

It's interesting you would say that. When I was a kid, all kids were lazy and stupid. And now I think all kids are lazy and stupid. They really aren't; they just lack experience. In fact, I find for the most part, that kids today are incredibly bright. What motivates me, however, is not what motivates them. But, companies are evolving to handle that, and it's not such a bad thing. Now, things like spell check on computers have softened some brains, but I would expect that. I also see a lot of what I call 'Sesame Street Syndrome' where they can't focus on something for more than about 10 minutes. Obviously, I blame a certain popular TV show for that. Bottom line: they don't know the trivia that I do, they don't know geography like I do, they don't know English like I do. But, the brains are just as sharp and creative. I see nothing but good/better things coming.

Kids are pampered and babied too much today and a lot of them are just lazy because everything is done for them. Blame the parents. They are raising a bunch of good for nothin' wimps. My son who's in his late 20's notices this too.

I'm not sure how the future will develop. i guess we have to wait and see what the future has for us and especially for the kids, we have to open our eyes real wide. I hope the future will open up kids brains and realize that education is important and that without edcuation, you have nothing, because now its tough getting a job.

No, becuase in all of History generations have stepped up to world challenges.The reason I say no, they won't be lazy becuase of mentors and experiences of wise people. Education helps to shape and mold people. Several Psychologist believe with proper mentoring you can make anybody anything.
