Radio only sucks if you limit your mind and your mind's potential to learn and experience new things.
Radio is not now, nor has it ever been, just about rock or pop music being played on it. I listen to and love a local LA station called JACK (which plays a rock mix) but I also listen just as much to news, classical music and interview programs.
Try listening to other styles of music, from world folk to opera, from jazz to blues, or try listening to NPR or radio drama programs.
Most large cities have at least one station that plays staged theater plays and transcriptions of film classics.
The point is, radio only sucks to those with lazy minds.

My vacuum cleaner sucks, but my radio receives broadcast signals and converts them into energy that creates audio via a speaker.

it all started in the radio... Vj's, songs played freely, requests... all are exiting... it was then ipods and mp3's mp4's came... it can be downloaded from the computer... MAYBE, for some gadget techie, radio may be passe... but for some who loves radios... it will never run out of tune... :) PLUS there's unlimited memory space... :)xoxo~harmonicess~
