What you mean "we", kemosabe?

I never had one, but you may have.

If you are asking about my ancestors (or maybe yours), then it is true that somewhere back along the evolutionary sequence there were predecessor mammalian species that had tails, but it is also true that their ancestors were single-celled protozoans.

So what?

Yes it is true...and no it doesn't grow in the front. It is the left overs from our distant relatives. It's like an extension of the backbone but now our last few vertebrae are now fused into a (mostly) solid "tail bone" that cannot be seen outside of the skin. Although there are a few rare births when the there is a tail nub, but this is just the same as a 6th finger. It is also possible to break your tail bone when you fall.

Kinda, it would be a time frame of millions of years, before the first hominids. Its never impeded us so the tail bones stayed. Also, every now and then someone is born with a fur coat, another random activation of a suppressed gene.

Well...Some people are born with a small tail...I don't believe we "used" to have tails..maybe humans backs were just slouched over, but no long crazy tail.
