How soon should they be able to see the babies heartbeat with a sonogram??? This is my second baby, third pregnancy, with my son the dr wouldnt see me until I was 14 weeks pregnant. I found out 2 weeks ago I am pregnant again, I am so excited, but when we went to the OB yesterday they didnt see a heartbeat, but I am only about 3 weeks pregnant. With my first pregnancy I was 10 weeks when I saw the dr and the baby didnt have a heartbeat, I had had a missed miscarriage. Is it just to soon to see the heart beat??? I am kinda worried and for some reason I didnt ask the dr I guess because I am was too afraid of what she might say. We really want this baby. I go back on monday for more blood. I am gonna ask then but I wanted to ask everyone.

When I was pregnant with my son they did an u/s at 5 weeks to determine gestational age and there was no heartbeat then. I had lost two pregnancy's previously so I was upset, but they had me come back a week later to do another u/s because it was too early to determine anything. I was 6 weeks and 4 days prego the second u/s and they found the heartbeat! The normal range for seeing the heartbeat via u/s is anywhere from 6-8 weeks. Try not to worry :)

Not to worry, most OB's won't see you until atleast 10 weeks, unless you are considered high risk. But, even at 10 weeks, it is hard to listen to the heartbeat, so they will do an ultrasound and it is visible by this point. At 3 weeks, your fetus is so tiny, I would think it impossible, not to mention, most women do not even know they are pregnant at 3 weeks! The doctor would surely tell you if she was concerned. Try not to stress out, as this is hard on you and your baby. I know it is not easy when you've miscarried before.

yep three weeks is way too early to hear or see a heartbeat. we didnt hear our babys heartbeat until the ultrasound at 12 weeks. then at every visit from then on out we have heard it. but even at the 9 week visit they couldnt find it with the doppler thing but they said they dont worry unless they dont hear it after 12 weeks. so i wouldnt worry alright? you are doing great congrats on your little bundle of joy!!! good luck and god bless

Usually about 6-7 weeks is the earliest to see a heartbeat, it is often even a little later than that.

Your baby doesn't even start to develop a heart until the 5th week of pregnancy. By the 6th or 7th week you will be able to detect a heartbeat.

Congrats and good luck!

They can usually see the heartbeat by about 8 weeks, but it's iffy before that.

Three weeks is too early. Try not to worry about it. I know that's easier said than done. But really, at 3 weeks, they wouldn't be able to hear anything, that is not a bad sign.

you wont be able to hear the heartbeat until 8-12 weeks... right now your baby isnt considered a fetus yet... i wouldnt stress to much because it can lead to a miscarriage...good luck
