I am seventeen and need to open a checking account for my job. I'm working for Avon and it's the best and more efficient way for me to transfer money and make payments if I write my own checks and deposit other people's to my account.
I know I'm allowed to have a savings account. If push comes to shove, I'll just stick with that, but I'd like to be able to open a checking account.

Thanks to everyone!

Hey, thanks everyone for your answers! I went to the credit union with my dad today and I was able to get a joint account with him. I was also allowed to get a debit/credit card and checks! So I guess you can be seventeen in order to kick start all of this! :D
Thanks again so much!
Lauren
