Barring injuries, the Lakers as of now could win 50 games minimum. They have done so well without Lamar Odom. They've beaten 2 western powers (Utah and Phoenix) as well as give hell to Houston before losing by 2 points. As long as they stay hungry and keep their focus, they could be in the Western Conference's top 5 teams. Bynum should continue the streak he is in right now. Turiaf will always provide energy to pump the team up. And most importantly, as long as their bench contributes on a regular basis (60+ points against a fully armed Suns team), I see no problem with them getting 50 wins.

Go Lakers!

The Lakers will not win 50 in the West! However, in the East they would've faired 50 wins a lot easier.

The West always has 3 to 5 teams that win 49 to 50 borderline. They have 5-6 teams that are the core of the West!
Spurs
Suns
Rockets
Nuggets
Utah
Mavs

That's tough but the Lakers will be in the playoffs

if everyone is healthy i dont i still dont even see it possible for the lakers to win 50. You have to figure the Spurs, Mavs, Suns, Rockets and maybe Jazz will win 50 and its rare to have 5 teams from a stacked conference win 50. I think if they keep kobe and get totally healthy 48 max, more likely a 45-37 campaign

i say it is possile but not with the team right now. If kobe gets traded for an amazing deal like a point gurad and a shooting guard (or PF) then they have a chance. I say don't tade for a SF or a center because Luke Walton and Andrew Bymm needs to start.

No. The Lakers are still too much Kobe and not too much team. They will go 43-39 unless Kobe passes and becomes a consistent passer. If he does, then they will become a serious contender in the West!

hmmm...kobe wants out, phil thinks kobe is too distracted, this has happened time and again. most of the time, Shaq rises to the occassion and bails 'em out. unfortunately, Shaq is busy aging gracefully in Miami(a.k.a trying to fashion out a win!). IF Bynum plays consistently, and the rest of the team shoot incredibly good, plus management promises to ship kobe next year(a promise which we know they will break by September '08) , then they might just win some. of course, if kobe scores 81 points more than twice...hmmm...

40+ might be more realistic and 30+ if Kobe leaves before the all star break, and I am a Lakers fan.

I doubt it. The Kobe thing is going to be a distraction until they trade him. After that the new players are going to have to mesh. Not to mention learn the triangle. Nobody gets that mid-season.

As long as they play team ball and let things roll as they should. Fisher is back, Odom will be back, bench can finally step up when they need to, and Kobe is goin to do what Kobe does and thats be AWESOME!!!
GO LAKERS!!!!
