I couldn't take multi vitamins through out my pregnancy. My baby 11 months old and he is great. The baby takes everything it need from your body. The multi vitamins are actually more for you. Try taking the Flintstones gummies. They are delcious and they don't bother my stomach. Good Luck.

Are yuou otherwise eating a healthy diet? If so, then you should be fine. Prenatals can only supplement the diet you already have. I am 36 weeks + into my third pregnancy and have never been able to even tolerate Flinstones either. A healthy diet is FAR more important than prenatals. Just make sure you get all of the vitamins and things in your regular diet.

If the doctor says the baby is healthy then the baby is healthy, no need to worry. It is actually very common for women in their first trimester to have trouble with their vitamins,... if the constant nausea and vomiting has passed by now (for most women it subsided around 14 weeks) then I would try switching back to the vitamins and seeing how that goes, if it doesn't work then don't sweat it, continue eating a healthy diet and keeping yourself healthy, that will keep the baby healthy and everything will be fine.

I would consider taking them at night with a piece of toast.. That way if you feel nausea or anything like that you'll be asleep... Also, the vitamins will be absorbed more into your system as oppossed to being "pee'd" out ! If you choose NOT to take your vitamins there's a slight increased risk of birth defects if you aren't getting enough folic acid.. Also, your baby will be leeching valuable vitamins/minerals from YOU.. Thus, you may be in inceased risk for dental cavities, enamel break down and possibly loosing your teeth.. So, I would consider taking some sort of vitamin for your health/babies..Good luck

I didnt take prenatal vitamins either. I tried everything, flinstones, womens one a day, etc. Everything made me sick. My daughter is 8 days old and very healthy. Maybe you can ask your doctor to just give you a pill for folic acid and see how that goes. But I didn't take anything and the baby is fine.

Ask about Precare chewable vitamins. They are mild, orange flavored, and don't make you sick.
Prenatals are to give you a sufficient supply of various nutrients that your body is needing more and more of because of your baby. If you are eating well (foods high in nutrients such as iron) then I am sure you'll be fine. That is the key- eat as healthy as you can to make up for not taking the vitamin! If you do that I am sure you will be fine. For many years people didn't have the luxury of prenatals to help keep their supplies of nutrients high and look how populated our planet is? I have faith you and baby will be just fine with plenty of foods high in protein, iron, and all that other good stuff : ) God bless.

It is always best to take your vitamins when you can for both you and your baby, BUT I had a really hard time taking them with all 3 of my children. My oldest is in 1st grade and is above grade level, and the next 2 seem to be doing ok and all are growing fine. I wouldn't recommend not taking them at all, but not being able to everyday should be fine!

Prenatals are for you and your baby. They contain exta vitamins/nutrients that your baby will pull from you and your baby needs Folic Acid to build strengthen it's brain and nerve development. I know that they sometimes have adverse reactions, but you should take them anyway. Try taking it right before you fall asleep or see if you can get a liquid vitamin prescribed.

Just eat healthy. When I was born no one was taking any vitamins. Ask the doctor when to start multi vitamin for your baby when the baby is born.
