wow i agree to some extents!! i personally find that a lot of stuff made in china is just utterly dangerous, and i have seen so many news reports about dodgy merchandise coming from their!! but it is as much our fault as it is there , i mean we could just be less stingy and make the toys ourselves but no we choose to open factories in countries where we can pay people 1 cent a day to work!! i guess the old saying you only get out what you put in really applies here!! i think what we need to realise is that we need to start encouraging our own countries industries instead of exploiting foreign labourers!! its a sad thing that this can happen and i dont have kids yet but whe i do i dont want the to grow up in a world where we would rather hace dodgy toys that can kill our kids instead of putting in the extra money to make the toys better in our own country or at least check the imported toys better!!

Personally, I think you're turning your blame and anger on the wrong target. American companies are the ones that allow this to happen. They are the ones doing their business in China and not in America or other more friendly places. They are the ones that have allowed China to send sub-par quality merchandise to us for the past two decades. China's not doing anything but trying to make a buck. Like anyone, they'll do whatever they have to to save money and cut costs, hence the lead and crap. But they only do it because the American companies that buy from them let them get away with it. Meanwhile, the American people are stupid enough to continue to buy this crap year after year after year. Time to start boycotting the companies that do their business in China. Might mean you don't get the toys and lipstick you want, but that's the price you pay for making a difference.

We are in such a diluted state of being...it is all materialistic, and based on the need for money...when we start putting the need for GOD back into everything, maybe we will become better. We rely so much on outside sources, and are unwilling to take care of our own, what can one expect...We need to unite and take a stand of some sort, don't purchase items made in China, etc.

Because we want to buy lots of material items to satisfy our low self esteems...and what better way than to buy lots of cheap foreign made goods. Instead of having one item like a toy or a shirt for many years, we must have a dozen of them.

Well there is that ,and they also hold much of the US debt in their hands , in the form of bonds, plus they are becoming a large consumer of Foreign Oil, . So , in effect , although they don't have a whole lot of weapons, they do in essence have the US in their hand. One day, I suspect they shall squeeze.

No, but Tupperware scares the **** out of me.
Seriously, I think China is one of the biggest threats our nation faces, militarily, diplomatically and economically.
