I got bronchitis twice in my 9th month of pregnancy with my 2nd child. I was worried like you. I didn't know if they could put me on anything. But they put me on a thing called a Z-PACK. It like 5 or 6 pills you take for 5 days. It an antibotic...I had to take it cause I'm allergic to penicillin.

Check w/ your doctor.

I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!

The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!

I would wait to hear back from the doctor. My doctor gave me a list at my first visit of the OTC drugs I could take for common problems. Until you hear from them, you might try drinking some herbal tea or even hot water with lemon. And maybe try sitting in the bathroom with the shower running. The steam will help with congestion.

Trust your doctor to tell you what is safe for you because every woman is different,... but you can try some home remedies to relieve the pain like drinking hot tea (decaf) and ice water to numb your throat.
