I made a purchase on ebay US and I am in the UK. Unfortunately the seller doesn't have paypal. I have to pay by Banker's Draft. (I don't think I can get a postal order to be cashed in the US)
Am I able to get a Banker's Draft in US Dollars from my local bank here in the UK? If not, do postal orders come in US Dollars?

Serious answers only please.
Cheers!

Yeah you can.

You need to request a FOREIGN DRAFT from your bank. It's basically a cheque they will issue in USD. It'll cost about £8 or £18 for this. The bank make it and then post it to your home address then you will have to send it to the person you want to pay. They can then easily draw it on a bank in the US.

NO, NO, NO! A banker's draft, like another piece of paper might nicely be solid. If the customer can circulate to his own financial business enterprise and %. up a draft, he can in simple terms as fairly advance it in money. additionally i could be suspicious approximately your vehicle being "the only he's been finding for", Minis are not precisely skinny on the floor, in eire or everywhere else. in case you may settle for a banker's draft, wait till YOUR financial business enterprise tells you the money's on your account till now you quit the vehicle, or you will see neither your vehicle or your money ever returned!

Sure, you can go to the bank and tell them you need to send a cashier's check in US funds or that you need to send an international money order and see what products they have to help you out - if they cannot help you at that bank, you can usually persuade them to help you figure out which bank in town does that kind of transaction - these days between EBay and international business, they typically can to this stuff, but you may need to fill out extra forms so give yourself a good window of time. I did this here and had to first to a withrdrawl in cash from my account, then they sent me to another branch to convert it to foreign currency, then they printer out the draft - what a time-consumer. Hopefully your bank is better, but be ready to wait for them to find the right person and that person to be available and to make the official call on the exchange rate.

Most large post offices have international money orders. They are generally cheaper than bankers drafts.

My advice is stay well clear . . . you have no recourse on a bankers draft after it has been cashed and the seller can simply disappear. There are so many warnings against doing what you propose . . . please ask yourself why they won't accept paypal . . . the answer should be obvious !!!!

Good god thats going to cost you!!!

Better have a look here : http://www.auctionpix.co.uk/

They will send your payment in dollars - a much much cheaper way. I would never purchase anything from the US without the seller taking PP.
