Oh, I feel your pain!! Nothing worked for us, even that wallpaper remover solvent D.I.F. What finaly worked perfectly for us was using a steamer. You can rent wall paper steamers from some home improvement stores, but we just used a cheap clothes steamer and a putty knife. Worked like a charm where as D.I.F did bupkis.

Here's a couple tips... Get a paper "Tiger" or "Shark" from you local home improvement store.. It's a scoring tool that will help get the paper off the walls.. .Next get some cheap fabric softner from the dollar store.. Liquid.. Mix a solution of hot water and fabric softner about 50/50 or thereabouts and spray sections of the wall.. Let it sit for about 10-30min... The paper should just tear away.... Then you can sponge off the glue with the same solution.. You can also try vinegar and hot water as well.... A wallpaper steamer will work as well.. I think you can rent them. Good luck

Go to hardware store and buy a special tool that you run over the walls. It cuts tiny little holes in the surface of the wall paper.
They are cheap think about $6. Sorry can't actually remember the name of the tool but the hardware store will know what you want.
While you're there buy some of the chemical stripper too. You paint this on the wall after using the tool and it dissolves the glue used on the paper. Follow the directions carefully. And the paper should scrape right off. If you don't already have a heavy wide blade scraper I recommend buying one off them too.

If your wallpaper was installed directly on the wall board, you are going to have a heck of a time getting it off without doing a lot of damage to the drywall.
However, you should score the wallpaper first, then steam it and then strip it.
If your wallpaper was installed correctly (over a painted or at least primed wall), then you shouldn't have nearly as much trouble. You could probably forego the steamer and use a gel wallpaper remover. You may still want to get a scorer.
Hope this helps.

Lots of experience with this....
The wallpaper "shredding" tool that is supposed to make tiny holes in the paper for soaking purposes just shreds the paper and it comes of in one inch pieces. VERY time consuming.
The fabric softener/hot water in a spray bottle is equally as effective as anything purchased at a hardware store.
Use a medium puddy (sp?) knife and a kitchen 'scrubby' (back of a kitchen sponge).
Unfortunately, there is no real shortcut when someone didn't prepare the wall correctly before they papered. Learn from their lesson and always prepare your wall before papering!!
Good luck anyway. Try not to use too many curse words. :)

The best way to do it is by usinf a squirt bottle with just wather it is best if it is hot or warm, for better result peel of the top layer (shiny part) and the just squirt on the left over paperand as soon is all damp or souk just pull if of you will be surprise how easy it is, just don't let the water on the paper dry off, this will not damage your walls, go ahead and do now and you'll be finish in no time.

Vingar, water, sponge. Soak the wall, let it sit on for about ten minutes and soak it again. The vinegar will loosen the crusty old glue on the wall!
