Who sang this song and what is the title? It got very brief play in the early 1980s (around 1982). It has these lyrics:
"At sixteen, we were always falling"
"You traded innocence for experience
Now you're so careful"
(and this is the refrain)
"I never had to work so hard to find love
I never had to work so hard
To be the only one you ever dream of
I never had to work so hard."
It's not in the Top 100 of 1982. It's a male singer, and the sound is like Steely Dan, very mellow.
