Lead paint just keeps coming into our country on toys and now Aqua Dots loaded with date rape drug. I know children shouldn't be putting things like that in their mouths but they're not supposed to be laced with drugs either. Maybe China would like to see more population control in America.

NeoPirate.......while that may be true you have to remember that China also sold their own people nutritionally void baby formula and many babies starved to death before it was uncovered by concerned mothers.

I still have the same question as I did the very second the story broke.

Why would you even use this date rape drug in the manufacture of anything.

I keep seeing posts from people saying how we try to keep our children from putting things in there mouths.
That is impossible and anyone with small children are fully aware that from the age of around 2 or 3 months until 2 or 3 years old most of what a child picks up is headed straight for the mouth. This is a well known fact to all that have ever raised a child.

As the Chinese have been raising children as long as the rest of us and that while the Chinese Government may not care about Human Rights they do study human behavior and are fully aware that ALL CHILDREN do this at the very young age.

To me this is more than a lack of QUALITY CONTROL it must be an attack on our children.

If you cheated on manufacture something for adults or even kids over say 7 or 8 then it could possibly be argued that "we didn't know that anyone would put this in their mouths".

With children under this age it is a given.

I have a 4 month old grandchild and I can guarantee that one of the first things he will do while I'm holding him is to put part of my hand into his mouth to chew on it (he's teething and I always wash my hands before handling him).

Don't forget about the food too.

But China speaks on a daily basis just about of how they are going to take us over economically. And look at where we are at now with them. Next time go into a store look at the Made in sticker or printing on something and see just how many things are made in China.

Reason why we did this, especially with food, is due to China having no health laws as we do and getting cheaper production from them as well as worker giving the company owners more money. At the expense, though, of our safety, health and lives.

Make no mistake about it, China in the end wants to take us over economically and ruin us financially so we are truly dependent on them in economical terms. Just imagine what can happen with that scenario.

China doesn't care about their own people! Couple months ago Northern part of China had a rat problem and sent them down south, telling them it was a food delicacy just to get rid of them. You think they care about some bad toys?

I did lived in China long enough to tell you, that organize plannings in that place is almost non-existant, and if something happens, its because they don't even know it themselves... Its strange to say, but over there, even if they are a unique party, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, its why they lack so much transparencies, because they don't trust each others in the first place!!! They are a bunch of paranoiacs there!! Its sad, as there is nice peoples there that deserves better!

One day, one Chinese told me this: if you are scared of what chinese are doing to foreigners, then you would be even more scared to see what Chinese are doing to other Chinese!!
I guess its VERY true!!

I don't know about the ulterior motives, but one thing speaks loud and clear... the profit motive. The harsh truth is that those products are bought because they're cheap. For the most part, the average American consumer only cares that they're getting something for a couple of dollars less. What is not obvious, or conveniently ignored, is the real cost for those couple of dollars saved in terms of child labor practices (beatings and rape) and horrendous working and living conditions for those who provide those goods 'on the cheap'. There's also the losses for US industry in terms of goods and jobs. That lead paint makes those toys bright and shiny... the men, women and children making those shiny toys probably aren't concerned because they couldn't afford to buy them.

When a yellow smiley face with a chainsaw cuts a price by $1.87, it's easy to say "that's their country; their problem"... And convenient to ignore the US companies that make enormous profits from buying very cheap and selling a little cheaper. Companies that pay their own employees so little that the government underwrites their enormous profits and US taxpayers foot the bill with taxes to cover the employees via public assistance for food and health care.

It's not just the toys and pet food, and it's not just happening in the USA. China is selling out its own to anyone that pays their 'competitive' price.

The faulty condoms might put a kink in that population control theory, unless the spread of HIV/AIDS is factored into the equation. But it sure fits in nicely with Bush 'abstinence only' programs that say condoms are ineffective, huh? Maybe in low doses those drugs just make the kids docile and prepare them for sweatshop labor... as well as easier for the busy, hard-working parents to manage?

They go by the little red book and the art of war.
It is the main goal to win without war.
So buying the USA and poisoning their children are two of the best ways to defeat us.
I personally do not buy anything that says made in china.

Yes, China is actively trying to destroy the USA, poison their children, send shoddy products all while destroying one of their most important markets so that their economy can go down.

Yea right!

It constantly ceases to amaze me how little common sense people have in this world and just soak up all the crap they do without using their god damned heads.

Many people believe (true or not) that they are not only trying to poison our children, but also our entire population including our pets in various ways. Our food, water supply, toys, vitamins, etc. It would be a really smart way to take over without causing damage to the infrastucture. They have patience & can wait.

I have to wonder at this point. In reality China is only hurting themselves. You can only import so many items that have to be recalled before you go somewhere else for those items.

In the end the government of China does realize that and they are seriously trying to fix the problem. Loss of American exports would seriously hurt their economy and that's not something they can live with.

It is the responsibilty of companies in our country to follow our laws, not the chinese. If their products are substandard our companies shouldn't be selling them, that's why we have regulations and laws, we are being screwed by our own, quit buying from them and set a new standard.
