The Sun will stop its nuclear fusion of hydrogen into helium in about 3-5 billion years. After this, it outer layer will then expand outward and it will become a red giant. After all the helium has been exhausted, the outer layer of hot material will be thrown of into space leaving a glowing core known as a white dwarf. With no more fusionable fuel left ,it will continue to glow until all the heat has disappated and it then becomes just another burned out cinder floating through the Universe.

In about 5 billion years. What will happen is, the fusion process will run out of fuel, and the sun will swell into a red giant. It'll expand out far enough to engulf the Earth. After a few hundred thousand years, it'll blow off huge amounts of mass, and then begin to contract into a white dwarf - just a small core of helium, super hot, that'll take millions of years to cool off.

In about 4-5 billion years, it will turn into it's Red Giant phase. Then it's over for the Sun :(

Yup. About 5 billion years from now, according to our best
theories of the way stars get older. The first thing it
will do is expand the outer surface of the star, probably to
close to the earth's orbit, which will be pretty much the
end of things here.

Hi. Only if it ever gets pulled into a black hole. The core will be warm for many eons. The FUSION will stop when it runs out of fusible material. At least 5 billion years.

Long after it explodes because of it burning helium, the destruction of Earth, and the inner planets. BILLIONS of years from now.
