Freshman Calc is normally standard, but you also have to think about what is required for the degree itself as well as the Premed portion.

I teach mathematics at the college level, and we have seen the med school expectations change over the years. Nowadays, it's typical for premed students to take one semester of the "light" calculus course (usually with a title like "calculus for biological and social sciences") and a semester of statistics.

The calculus course I refer to usually will not include trigonometry. You do, however, need to have a reasonable background in algebra to be successful at it.

I thought they would need Physics or Quantum Physics prior to med school.

I know college math including algebra and I thought calculus was required just for a BS degree.
