hi dave, just wanted to share this with you, about dolphins....kelly slater (surfer) in his own words said "that day i had a real spiritual moment " what happened, well he had one more wave to catch, and there were no waves coming in, the clock was running out of time, as he was paddling out into the deeper waters, he said a group of dolphins started jumping out of the water in front of him, his words were " it was like the dolphins wanted me to follow them and i did " then out of no where a wave came in just in the nick of time, he caught it, and won...and he owed all his thanks to the dolphins that led him to the wave....funny enough an aussie just won the world title in surfing, and he to said a dolphin appeared just as he caught that wave that won him the title....

Is what a coincidence? Do you mean is it a coincidence the dolphins were swimming in circles around the guy after the shark bit him? I don't know for sure, but I imagine it's very possible they were reacting to the attack. It's purely speculative to say they were doing so with the express purpose of saving the surfer's life and I think it's assuming a lot to say they "saved him" as this story states. I suppose it's possible though.

Perhaps the dolphins were trying to assist him. Perhaps they would have done the same for some other species. Perhaps they were just messing with the shark. There are a lot of questions. One think I am certain of is it's not a miracle.

Interesting story though. Thanks for posting it.

No. There is information available on dolphins on how they actually scare off sharks. Dolphins can attack sharks and there are actual proven cases on how sharks are afraid of them. I live in Australia and I've read and heard heaps of stories on how they protect and help save humans (especially surfers) when they're in the water, especially against the Great White Pointer (the biggest and deadliest sharks in the world).

What would be even more amazing would be that these same dolphins would save some fishermen like the Japanese who normally catch them for food. Dolphins seem to make better Christians than most humans. There's something mystical and intellectual about them like guardian angels. They are supposed to represent good luck.

First, why do you assume that such creatures as dolphins and sharks exist in the first place? All the photos are photo shopped, all the eyewitness testimony is worthless and all the evidence for their existence is inconclusive at best.
Yes, I have seen dolphins and sharks but I have no proof they aren't well designed robots or that I wasn't hallucinating or seeing things.

However, if we assume that dolphins and shark do exist what makes you think they would both inhabit the same ocean near the same location?
Of course it is possible (since I dismiss nothing out of hand) that by pure coincidence a human was swimming in an ocean and was attacked by something (that he assumed because of his beliefs to be a shark) and that later something (that again he assumed were dolphins because of his beliefs) and the second something was a species (or there were enough of them) that the first attacking species wouldn't come back.
There is no need to make an appeal to such speculative creatures as dolphins and sharks in order to explain this man's experience.

I have included a link below to a book that I think you might find interesting.

psi...you are SO FUNNY !!!! LOL
I don't believe that it was a coincidence ....because I'm one of those "crazy" people that believe that once in awhile something good can happen to people through unexplainable means. And it lifts my spirit to hear stories like this about animals. (did you notice I said my "spirit"???)(BOO !!)
