I totally forgot about the notes home from school. I was never excited to receive that. In fact I too was guilty of hiding mail from school.

NO.. in fact when I did get something in the mail that young it was usually a Note from one of my teachers. Expressing how I was disruptive in there class , talking and crackin jokes.. Man.. that brings back memories of azz whippins.. cause although I made good grades I could never keep my mouth close and moms use to tare my azz up.. So I never got excited I got Ghost when I heard or seen somthing in the mail for me..
p.s.. Do you know I even tried to get rid of them.. once our car was stolen and I had hid this notice in my math book.. some how it showed up on the streets in the neighbor hood somewhere.. 3 weeks later and this ***** azz Nia gone give it to my moms.. man.. I still got a whoopin.. *sigh* there was no excapin that big azz belt.. lmao..

I looooooooooooved getting mail when I was a youngun.
My daddy always sent us valentine cards via Loveland, Colorado because the post office stamped a red heart on the envelope from LOVEland Colorado.
I still love receiving mail, snail mail is fun (of course not the bills and junk catalogs)

Sorta; I had bad report cards in the beginning. I did love receiving mail from my grandma because I found money inside and I could buy candy(hey I was a child; what do you expect?). Now I loathe mail, unless it's anime that I ordered off of EBay.

I loved getting mail back in the day! I used to like to save proofs of purchases for free stuff. Then came the exciting wait.. The most memorable ones being a "hey kool-aid" t-shirt and a nestle quick bunny t-shirt.When my younger brothers were well, younger, they liked to sleep in their sisters cool T-shirts.Once I sent off for and received a autographed picture of Carrol Burnett. That was fun also.

That's so funny, I was just talking to my boyfriend about this a couple days ago. I went to check my mail and I got all bills. It reminded me of how I use to love getting stuff in the mail and when I didn't I would be a little disappointed. Now I get extremely disappointed when I get mail!!! It sucks!!!!

I don't remember ever receiving mail when I was a child.
I guess I received mail a couple of times when I was a teenager, but it wasn't always such an exciting moment as you say, since my father used to open everybody's mails (I'm not sure if he opened my mother's... but I know he used to open his children's... Nice act, isn't it?...)

I loved to get Birthday cards. Dreaded when the school sent the deficiency reports home.
Now that I'm a supervisor at the P.O., I hear all of your lovely complaints about mail. It pays most of the bills though.

Yes. I loved when the pony would ride into town with a mail bag full of letters. I would wait for that one day when someone would send me a letter. When I finally received a letter, I wasn't too happy. It was my draft papers...I'm not really that old

I used to get teen magazine too, and YM (young & modern), and I used to get those CD's (the 12 for $1 ones from BMG) and yes it was very exciting. but, now I can do without the mail..cuz the majority of them are BILLS, BILLS, AND MORE BILLS..lol. and creditors threatening to sue my a*s if don't pay off credit card debts....lmao..

I used to get letters from friends and things and like everyone else, I now get bills. I don't even get any magazines anymore because I get sick of not having time to read them. Maybe if I got off here I'd have more time.
