Probably the best thing about beaches in Winter (although a bit subjective) is they are cleaner, more peaceful and quieter thanks to the removal of the majority of the madding crowd. You might even get lucky and be the only person on the beach, or have a whole beach for the pleasure and enjoyment of just you and your sweetheart. Now that makes Wintertime at the beach the best season of the year! But basically that is the special beauty of beaches in Wintertime: few or no stinky, sweaty, noisy people.

Having lived several hundred feet from the Ocean, I can attest to the fact that in winter it possesses an Erie beauty all its own.
To sit in a warm living room gazing out the window at this winter art is a wonderful thing.
To sail on it through the cutting winds of winter gails is just the opposite.
As I have done both, I can appreciate and detest it at the same time.

absolutely... my favorite time for the beach is in the winter, right after sunset. The sea looks so vast when it's not polluted with people, and jet-skis. I like it best in solitude, so I can really connect with myself.
