You have to make a document of the design, with description of the design, specifically what make sit different from others. Then file it at the Patent Office.
Before you do the document, go to the Patent Office first to ask for a sample of the document. Sometimes (depends on the country or state) they even require a certain size of document, as in A4 paper. Or they require a certain format.

Contact a Patent Attorney Carlos... it's a rather complex proceedure. I would NEVER use one of the "Inventor Assistance" type websites.
