I just purchased a stainless steel thermos but everything I have put in it, comes out tasting and smelling different from when I put it in. Anyone know the cause and/or cure for this problem?

Did you clean it with boiling water and Baking Soda? It works for me every time, I've been using them for coffee every day for the last 30 years. Put about 3 table spoons of Baking Soda into the bottle, then fill it with boiling water, then let it stand over night. In the morning empty it rinse it out with fresh water and use it. There should be no change in the taste of the food after that.

It's stainless steel inside????? I've never had that happen to me. There must be a hole or something. The beauty of stainless steel-lined thermoses is that they preserve the flavor of what's in them, and they don't transfer flavors to different things....something's wrong with your thermos.

I have been using mine since 1973 and have not experienced this problem. Sounds like it needs cleaned. Make sure you clean the sealing device also (stopper).

sounds like a defect. I would take it back and exchange it.
