they were round discs of plastic/hard card with pictures on them that kids collected i think.

they were actually a revival of the old milk caps from the old-fashioned glass bottles that would get delivered to people's houses in the early 20th century. Kids would collect and play with these caps. In the 1990s, there was a revival, but these were specifically created as collectables, rather than being used in the dairy industry as they were in the past. These little cardbord (I think) discs had all sorts of different images on them.

They are little carboard disks that you stack up & throw another disc made of plastic or metal called a slammer to try & turn the pogs upright to win
