I was just wondering whether any of the candidates have opined about the shameful state of our veterans, who apparently make up about 25% of all the homeless on the streets.

You have to ask if 1) This is what they want, many will never change the status of their lifestyle because this is the way they want it. 2) How many have been removed from the military for other than honorable conditions indicating that they were poor performers in the first place. 3) How many actually know that their are many agencies that could help them by providing jobs, shelter, and grants.

Homeless claiming to be veterans who apparently made poor decisions with their lives and got themselves in that situation, would still benefit from Huckabee.

Huckabee is for the FairTax that would give them a check every month equal to 23% of the Poverty Level divided by 12. They can use that money to clean up, get jobs, and pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

Do you mean their own opinions? Even if they did they would only say what is necessary to get elected, we never know what they really think, just like "We're going to free the Iraqi people" But what he really wanted to do was secure their oil. They say whatever they think will work and it does. It is criminal and totally shameful that any vet lives on the streets, and there will continue to be more and more before there is less and less. The world is watching and we should care.

Many use the "vet"status for sympathy. All the vets I know went on to be productive citizens.Homelessness is a shame.Somehow blaming it on ones veterans status is a bigger shame

I believe it might be the circumstances. Do they want to come off of the streets? Can they be helped? I guess the only way to find out would be to find out who wanted help and proceed from there. The majority of people on the streets don't want help, and would rather stay on the streets.
