They own our mortgages, our debt and everything we use is made there. How long before we realize that we are no longer the first world nation that influences others but vice versa.

America has been practicing capitalism for a very long time. We invented it, as a matter of fact. We are decedents of some pretty sly horse traders.
We sold our debt to foreign countries at a premium. The value of that debt is now declining with the declining dollar.
What is happening now is hedge fund managers in the USA are buying that debt back at a much lesser price, which eliminates a large chunk of the debt.
In other words, China may have bought a trillion $ worth of debt 4 years ago. The dollar has lost about 30% value during that time, so the debt can be bought back for $700 billion.
The result is $300 billion in debt is wiped out in the trade.

Hey, I thought it was the Americans and the Western countries that wanted China to open its doors to trade. You are living comfortably now than ever before because you can afford to buy more goods. Americans sell more arms than all the major arms manufacturers in the world and these arms are for killing each other. So what invasion are you talking about ? Do You want China to be dependant on American Aid like so many other nations ? I firmly believe now ignorance is a virtue with some people.

Mutual trade is beneficial, and reduces armed conflicts.

The problem with China and the U.S. is that the trade is all one-way. They sell, and we buy.

Of course, the sad thing is that this is true of virtually every trade partner the U.S. has. In the end, this is a testament to the crushing loss of manufacturing jobs in this nation, as companies ship operations overseas in search of 30 cent/hour workers.

This is old song.
The verse where I came in was that Japan was going to take over America.
Than came the Arabs with their oil money.
Now China.
Each and everytime doom and gloom was predicated and yet we are still here.

I'd say they have us by the balls and if they wanted to wage war on us all they have to do is send it here and we will buy it. Our demise may be due to what we eat (from China).

They said the same thing about Japan not long ago, and then it was the Middle East, prior to our entering WWII the same thing was said about Germany. Conspiracies once begun will always evolve to unbelievable levels.
