Where I live (Arkansas) temp services are the norm instead of the exception. Employers use them as cheap help. The positions are anything but temporary. Many companies will even tell you that they are not going to permanently hire you. We have large companies that 'hire" temps for over a year. Really sad part is that the large companies own the temp service they hire from.
