Im wondering if there is a place similar to takechiho gorge somewhere else in japan.

im going there next summer, but ill be staying in tokyo. i wanted to go to takechiho but its sooo far, and unless i get a round trip plane ticket under $200 its not gonna happen.

so anyone know any places with waterfalls in japan? or like a really beautiful place like takechiho somewhere else?

thanks a lot

Try Shiraito Falls in Shizuoka Pref. It is not far from Mt. Fuji and many tours go there!

Nikko has waterfalls, and that's not a long haul from Tokyo. Geibikei gorge in Iwate is really spectacular. The boatmen sing folk songs as they pole boatloads of tourists down the river. It would be easy to see Hiraizumi, Geibikei and Tono in the same trip.
