That's a possibility but while Musharraf is very ruthless in his own right he is not as extravagant as Hussein.... Musharraf is much more pragmatic and has held onto power through a survival mentality. He has worked in the system and has manipulated it to sustain his power instead of recreating it (until the last few weeks and his measures have been used lately because he feels it is necessary to his survival... he will loosen if he feels safer). He is very malleable. Saddam was not.

The bottom line though is that Musharraf will not last very much longer in Pakistan. He will flee before he is killed (most likely) and his first plea for sanction will be the United States. I am afraid that we will give him safe haven and we will be hated even more for it.
