Most laptops have a VGA connector on the side or back.

Plug it into that, and then there should be a Fn + F key combination that switches between the internal display and an external one.

You will need a VGA cable and a VGA out port on your laptop. Assuming you're using windows, right click on your desktop and go to Properties. Go to the Settings tab and right click on the box with the "2." Click Attached from the pop-up menu and your laptop's desktop should be cloned on the monitor now.

Maybe. Some laptops do have a monitor connection on them where you can connect it. After that its usually some odd button combination to enable it. i think im my thinkpad i had it was fn + F4
