Hello:

Well being an adult its tough because I am not sure how much I really remember well.

As a child you can sit and wonder at something totally common to an adult and just think...now what is that...what does it do...and then when an adult comes by and you ask them none of the dozen things you came up with are it...to have that kind of imagination and the world being that fresh and new, that has to be something.

On top of that...you probably don't know you're going to die and there are no bills to pay. It snowing all night is great because you can play in it...instead of having to move it away from the driveway.

Pretty much life is full of stuff that sucks...(and stuff that is awsome) and kids pretty much get the good stuff better and the bad stuff not nearly as bad.

Another example is Christmas (sorry non-christens)...as a child you will look forward to it for weeks...then the morning it happens you can't sleep, you're up way earlier than you would ever get up or anyone else in the house...I can't get that excited about anything like that anymore...not even close.

Pretty much life as an adult isn't meant to be fun. You get to have some fun in there somewhere, but as kids...its mostly good stuff.

I hope this helps.

i didn't have more fun when i was a kid. I think alot of people didn't. You can't do what you want and you have no freedom. Maybe it's nostalgia. Adults have lots of fun - this doesn't mean they don't have responsibilities and work - besides work can be fun too; making things work out can be fun when you have success. All lives are a balance of fun, work, etc. - if you aren't having enough fun - do something about it . Things that aren't fun about being a kid - not knowing things, being picked on by older siblings, having to move where your parents want, being sick (kids get sick alot more than adults), bad teachers that control your life - anyone else got some thing from their childhood that wasn't exactly wonderful? Also kids are more sensitive and feel sadness much more intensely - by the time you are an adult you are often dull to emotional pain.

If a child is allowed to have a childhood....it doesn't always happen anymore....then the child has his own world where no worries invade, no responsibilities he can't handle...he just enjoys each day on its own...and that is what we remember when we finally have to grown up and face the real world.

I lived even during World War II....I was aware of it a little because of the air raids, and the warnings of some dangers that "might happen"...but it was never allowed to invade our lives...we were kept from the new announcements on the radio, etc. You "heard" a little...but not enough to worry you.

Today we expose children to too much...the news...what happens in the neighborhood, etc...until they worry about everything. This should never happen to a child. We need to protect them and allow them this ideal time to grow up.

Adult have to face reality. They can still have fun, but it is along with a lot of other things like a job, and bills to pay.

As children you're innocent, naive and untouched by the day to day pressure and stress of being an adult. Because of this, you approach each day without a care or major concern in the world and are able to have more fun without feeling the previously noted feelings of stress and pressure.

A child's life is all fun and games. An adult's life is work, responsibilities for themselves and their family, which then creates stress and pressure. Whatever is left over...that's for fun and games. Making time for fun and games is important, but sometimes as adults, we lose sight of its importance and become more overwhelmed by day to day life. If not handled well, it can be such a vicious cycle!

The thing is that when you are a kid you do not have any worries, pressure, problems or anything to do but be kids and adults have to worry about monetary poblems, kids, life, and all that kind of stuff. That is what they mean by having more fun.

I like the quote and it does really reflect life.

The quote makes sense....the future they don't even think about and whatever they are doing is new and exciting. You have more fun as a kid for the simple reason that you don't have to worry about paying bills, going to work and you have no responsibilites.

As a kid I had no responsibilities, no thoughts of the past to regret,no fears of the future to apprehend. It was a carefree life. Presence or absence of money was insignificant. The quote mentioned in the question is very appropriate.

more than likely it is the utter lack of responsibility that a child has. responsibility is probably the greatest common source of stress for adults. the older we get as humans, the more responsible we are expected to be. unfortunately, many people lose sight of the joys of life in an effort to maintain their expected level of responsibility. this is most sad when adults miss the fun of being parents and enjoying the responsibility free life of their children in an effort to meet the responsibility of being parents. balancing your inner child with your outer adult is a great way to continue to enjoy life as an adult.
