i dream of the day when i can convince my family of celebrating x-mas on Dec 31. imagine the savings and how much stuff would be in stock.
why can't we wait a few days and relax, then while the kids are still off of school have a very affordable holiday. we could still do stuff on christmas together. nice meal, rent movies and spend time together. enjoy that the stores are closed and spend a nice day in or out playing in the snow (if there is any).
ahhh, to dream.

I do if I find things that I think will make great gifts. Not only for the next Christmas, but for birthdays throughout the year, too. And, that's when I get decorations, gift wrap, ribbons and cards. I can save heaps of money by shopping the after Christmas sales!

That's the best time to buy. I still buy everything I need before Christmas, but still love to shop the bargains. You can buy things to use as gifts during the year or for that occasion when you have forgotten to get someone a gift or an unexpected visitor drops by with a gift for you.

My mom used to when I was little. But it is a great time to buy gifts for your kids for other times too (birthdays), special occasions ect.) You can find great prices after the first of the year. I haven't had the $ after the first to do that though, so I don't.
