What can create world peace in the first place? Something with a self, I would think. And this person is trying to create a peace with another person... another ego. I can't see peace existing at all with out two people interested in their on going lives, in their being here. So, if the ego creates this idea of peace, which is something that must be "attained," something the changes how things are now, than that itself might be the problem. You want to achieve peace, which means the world around you is something you don't want happening the way it is, you want a world that is happening a different way.

I'd say ego is stopping world peace because it is trying to make the world peaceful, which is the cause of messing with the structure that was there in the beginning. The only way I can help show how this is working is answer yourself this question: what does a peaceful world look like? So many people give so many different answers, and that is the cause of the problem. We all want a different kind of world. I'm fine with the way the world is, and if others thought the same, this movement toward something that we don't even know about would maybe slow down a little.

Yes
and I hate say it but the egos of many Christain have caused our Lord, Jesus , his name - to be an impediment to world peace. Jesus and his fanatical followers are the major part of the problem.
Many people use his name as an excuse to be hurtful, steal and rob - trying to take others places and mucking the whole thing up

End result = Jesus is stopping world peace from occurring (but it is actually his selfish egomaniac followers who are the probelem.

I saw a guy in 1983 on Cataloina Island who was trotally peace loving cool guy - Some ~20 year old "Christian" dropped a pill on him and got the guy to say he didn't beleive in Jesus! ( Even though I had talked to the guy previously and he had said he did beleive in Jesus)
The guy who dropped the pill on him , ran like a sissy little baby to his daddy and told daddy t -"that guy doesn't beleive in Jesus."
The guy and his father harrassed the crap out of the cool guy. The cool guy ended up spun out of his fn mind man and to this day is a complete nut case!!!!.

I Will never beleive in Jesus Christ after I saw what they did to him. Jesus Christ and his stupid followers ARE THE PROBLEM.

Indeed it is. Ego hinders the attainment of world peace. As long as the greed and self-interest are among the players in one's character, it is very impossible for us to see world peace. One of the great problems we are besetting is the massive production of nuclear weapons among nations. These must strictly be addressed and it is high time for all nations to act together and come into an agreement to cease their interests in war games. Nothing can be attained from war. Peace is better to reign among us.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

The ego of a nation is the greatest source to seek diplomacy. When diplomacy fails, the nation's ego is also the greatest source of its need to protect itself through other means, war if necessary.

The Ego is NOT to blame at all. The Id, on other other hand, definitely shares some blame.

No...world peace is not possible.

Even if all humans where gone, the animals would still fight over hunting and breeding rights.

True peace is a illusion created by humans. Nature does not seek it.

Ego, yes. But other forms of weakness as well, such as ignorance, pride, fear, and I wouldn't rule out laziness either...
