It is disturbing- and you are right to feel this way. Last I checked, most states have laws which prohibit those over 18 from attending public high school- once someone passes that age, they must do their work in an adult education setting if they want a GED. I would make an effort to find out why these supposed "students" are still around- they may be emotionally disturbed, or they may have developmental disabilities such as Autism or Asperger's. Either way, they do not belong in the general school population, and the younger girls can get in a lot of trouble if they date or have sex with these older male students. Hope this helps.

Actually the age is not 18, it is older. Usually 19, but it can vary. (allows for one failing grade, at least.) (My friends sister in law is 19 in high school as well, because she failed a grade. )
At my high school, I met a 20 year old freshman. He wasn't the only one. It wasn't until I left when the school system began to crack down on people never leaving the ninth grade and 22 year olds still roaming the school. It's still a problem though. I have since left the inner city so my children will not have to deal with those issues and many many many others that the school system I went to has.

Actually it is legal for people up to age 21 to be enrolled in High School, but they should do their school work online instead of being around the other students. Unfortunately if the Freshman knows the guy is 21 she may think she is "cool", even though it is illegal.

normally you graduate when you are 17/18 years old. if you fail grade 12 the school may let you attend one more year, but not 2. thats why they have GED, for adults who need to graduate cause after 18 you are now an adult. your school has issues

I've never seen such a thing, are pedies manipulating their way into the system? The only kids that were older when I was in H.S were a little retarded.

WTF kind of high school do you go to? My old high school won't let anybody stay after the age of 20 period. Because it gets creepy. Suggest a GED to them.
