Well for starters congrtats on the baby. I just had twins in June. It's wonderful. But these 2 have never ate the same amount. Jayden, my son, has always eaten more than Heaven, my daughter. Yuo can tell a baby when to be and not to be hungry. She tells you by crying and being fussy til she's fed. I wouldn't worry bout it too much and yes I would let her have 6oz at a feeding. As long as she is holding it down and not throwing it up or doing alot of spitting up then she should be fine to eat more. No baby is the same. They all eat what they want when they want. Unless you are one of those messed up kind of people that make your baby eat when you want her too like a scheduled feeding. But I disagree with that.

my boy is 8 weeks, and only 8 pound something, he has 3 and a half oz every three hours, so you could put her up to 6oz but if she still isnt satisfied after that give her water as well this will give her that full feeling she is after. if you are a little unsure (dont blame you) of giving her 6oz so early then try the water idea now and see how she goes, she gets enough nourishment from the amount of formula she has now so i wont hurt her to just have some water instead of a bottle of milk.
advice: to figure out the amount she should be having per bottle..... current weight times 150 divided by the amount of feeds per day. a little more than the total wont hurt her.

Listen to your doctor, s/he knows best. It's okay to give a few ounces of formula between feedings, but it's way to early to be giving her cereal. She may seem like she's gaining too much weight, but feed her what she needs. My kids both were drinking almost 8 oz by they were that age, and they are just fine.

Congrats on the baby! my baby girl was 9 lbs and 4 oz so i know the feeling. she would eat like that too. it is ok to let them eat that much but what my doctor advised me to do was to give a set amount of milk and then if she still acts hungry give her some water. sometimes it is not that they are hungry it is that there brain doesnt know when to tell them that they are fulll so they just want more. but, it is ok she will be fine either way. i would not do cereal yet but, if nothing else works than talk to the doctor. but just remember it is ok to let her have that much.

U may want to supplement her feeding and move her to 6 ozs of formula and put her on cereal or baby food to satisfy her. She is obviously hungry if she is wanting more than 5 ozs and it is ok to put her on cereal for breakfast and then before she goes to bed and this should satisfy her and keep her full longer... there is nothing wrong with cereal and baby food at this age, i know some pediatricians want them on baby food at 6 months old but they know when they are hungry and their doctor doesnt and it may even cut her back to 4 ozs of formula per feeding with the cereal and baby food... adjust to her needs not the doctors needs... and see if this works...

She's normal mom. She sounds like she's right where she should be. She'll let you know if she over eats, she'll cry of stomach ache or spitting up, etc. If she's taking it and she's content after she eats all of that, you're doing everything right. 6 oz. isn't too much to give her right now.

Good luck!

Good for her! sounds like she has a healthy appetite. if she wasn't eating, u should worry.
At six weeks, a little bit of rice cereal wont hurt. I gave it to my daughter at 5 weeks bc she was waking up every two hours in the night to eat. so before bed I gave her just a few little spoonfuls of rice cereal mixed with her milk. she loved it and slept great! i wouldnt suggest getting her used to cereal with every bottle yet but if she is that hungry u might want to give it to her a couple times a day.
Good luck with your little one =)

Yes, always offer a few more ounces then you think she'll take, this way she can take what she wants. If you learn to read her signals, she will direct you what you should do, Kids are amazing that way. Relax & enjoy your beautiful girl.

If the baby wants more, give her more. She is growing and she might not want as much milk next week, but right now she does,so don't worry about it. You know her best! Congrats on your little miracle!

there is nothing wrong with feeding the baby until she's satisfied. Fill her up. Their weight will eventually even out. but it's important for them to be full. Nothing wrong with that.
