Honestly Katie, if i can call you Katie, i will call you Katie, Katie, people whom drink diet coke might be diabetic so even when they eat all that chlorestrol they can tell their doctor, that they are healthy by drinking diet coke.

My husband does because he is a diabetic.
We eat fast food about once a month so if he wants to splurge and get a Big Mac meal supersized, he tries to do right with the Diet Coke to lessen the sugar.

BTW, he is 6'2" tall and weighs 170 lbs.

Some people like Diet Coke better than regular Coke. Also some people order Diet Caffeine Free Coke sinceit is one of the few Caf, Free beverages available. My dh has a caf allergy so I could see him ordering something like that.

Regardless of what food I order at any restaurant or fast food joint, if I'm gonna order a soda, it's gonna be a diet coke..not to save calories, I just prefer the flavor of diet coke over regular coke...I think that is what most people are doing when they order like that. Because really, it's not saving that many calories and if your eating out, you want exactly what you're craving.

tons of reasons...taste - I think coke is too sweet but like diet., diabetes, like someone else said...I have gestational diabetes and have had to cut so much yummy stuff out of my diet but at least with diet coke i get my soda fix and not the sugar. Diet - period...some people , like i have in the past, figure, at least its diet and not an additional 300 calories....
Mainly, though, I would say taste....most of the people I know, prefer diet.

becuase when you save the calories on the pop, you can eat them in the extra fries,
or, they normally ordered a supersized meal with regular pop, but they're cutting back, so they order a diet instead
makes sense to me

I prefer diet coke not because I'm watching my weight... obviously I am not since I am at a fas food junk place. I cant stand regular soda... it's too much sugar... it makes me fee like blah. I'm just used to the diet stuff... diet pepsi or diet coke.

I do because the diet coke at McDonald's is also caffiene free and I can't have any caffiene due to heart palpatations and I like coke the best out of everything they have to offer of drinks
