It is just a slang word like loo, bog, crapper (named after the maker) - but throne probably has 2 meanings:

1. it's a sitting action - like on a throne.
2. some maker's monograms have a crown on them.

Because using slang when you are talking about things that we keep private helps us feel comfortable when speaking about them in mixed company. We call it the throne because when we are on it...we are the king or queen. Why do you call it a loo? There's no rhyme or reason for that word. If it is a word.

the same place calling poo stool came from, the monarch would be the one person who had their own toilet and it was more of a comode and as any seat the monarch sits on is a thrown it stuck (lol) the seat was actually called the royal stool and the most inportant job in the royal household would be the one touching the monarch so it was always a nobleman who wiped the monarches bum and guarded the stool, so that is where stool came from and thrown.
