Lord of the Rings type stories are completely overdone.

Come up with your own idea. Start small--a single character or setting. Then start filling in the details.

Here's something to get you started:

A cliff edge--the top of the cliff is a barren landscape, the ground a tracery of cracks and pits. At the bottom of the cliff, a river. A young woman stands on the edge. She's dying of thirst.

Now, answer these questions:

1. How did she get there?
2. How does she get to the river--or does she get there at all?
3. What's her larger goal?
4. What's standing in her way?
5. What's at stake if she doesn't reach her goal?

First of all, ideas need to be unique. Something that really intruigues you, otherwise you won't be able to write it as effectively. But first:
1. The main character must be a netural body. He cannot be overly irrtiable, nor overly happy. Everyone should be able to fit in his place, therefore, his must be emotionally equal.
2. Support Characters must host a variety of attitudes and styles, to increase unpredictability and style.
3. The plot line must hold twists and turns: never have anything straightforward.

If you need more aid on the actual plot, e-mail me. I don't think anyone can actually give you a good plot, beacuse the plot must come from you.

A very short one: a gnome (not hobbit) finds out that he is the chosen one to do a task that not even the king of Nadinina (made up land) could do.
but yeah try the following:
1. listen to the soundtrack and close ur eyes just picture a story
2. or listen to similar music if u think too much about the movie that u can think of original stuff

just saying cauz it is gonna be ur OWN story, right?

Obviously because of your level one status you are new to this board. Yes, there are many writers here--some are accomplished and many are struggling at the basics of good writing.

You are one of the latter. Write of your own ideas; don't borrow, or plagiarize another author's concept. That is called copyright infringement. Such endeavors will only bring you migraines.

I recommend the sites which are complete in the web: WRITER'S DIGEST; AUTHOR ASSIST.COM. rather than one will think for your better idea.

superboy, if you're interested in writing, you need to generate your own ideas. If you don't have one yet, think about it a lot more.
