Seriously, I know he didnt do well in Boston...but I think only because he was used also as a set-up guy. In Detroit he would strickly be the closer. Your thoughts.

Why not he can't be worse than Todd Jones, can he?

Couldn't hurt. With Zumaya out, the Tigers could use some insurance. Gagne as the closer would take pressure off of him, and also a move to Detroit would get him out of the spotlight somewhat.

No way! The Tigers don't need more arm problems. Frankly if I was Gagne, I'd be embarrassed to receive a world series ring!

Gagne is 50/50 at this point. I mean he could be great like he was in LA and TEX. Or he could be absolutely terrible like he was in BOS. But overall I would say try it. I have a feeling he will be Comeback Player of the Year in 08.

But don't hold me to that. lol.

As a Boston fan, I was fairly disapointed with his performance this past season (as everyone else was, I'm sure!) I think being a closer may be what he's best at and it couldn't hurt for Detroit to go after him.

With Zumaya out and their pitching staff needs more, it wouldn't hurt. They could use him as a great set-up with his great changeup and slider. I think it's not that bad of an idea.

Thats unless the Red Sox think otherwise, but I'm pretty sure Gagne is a free agent.

Yeah. Wouldn't hurt. I just don't think Boston was the right fit for him. Let him come to Detroit. We need somebody with Zumaya on the shelf.

I say, give Eric Gagne a chance. You never know what a great player they turn out to be. GO TIGERS!

No. Gagne has no business pitching in the AL. He needs to go back to the NL and dominate those weak batting lineups they have like he did before.

The Tigers would be asking for trouble. He still has arm problems and will be on the DL before the All-Star break.

I think the Blue Jays should get him.

The reason for this is, because he's Canadian and bringing him back to Canadian Soil might give him a boost, and we can use him whenever BJ ryan is hurt, or someone from the Bullpen is injured.

It would be perfect.
