I mean the job has alot of responsibility. Do you think I will lose this job?

I just wanted to add that it is very bad timing as I left an old company to start with this new company.

I would honestly wait till you are 3-4 months along. It is illegal for them to fire you for being pregnant, but being brand new, they could find a reason and you have nothing to back it up. I was in the same situation when I started my new job. 2-3 weeks later I found out I was prego and kept my mouth shut. Unless you are having problems with the pregnancy, keep it to your self. But ultimately, it is your decision. Congrats on the pregnancy though!

If this is a fulltime job then I wouldn't mention anything to them until you are over your initial 12 weeks (at least) - hold out longer if you can...my wife started a new job 2 weeks after she found out...she had really bad morning sickness and she was going to be covering for a lady going out on maternity leave..plus when the other woman left, my wife would have been on her own in the office...so she had to tell them and she gave up the job...because she knew she was really sick and she also knew that she'd end up leaving them in the lurch as she wouldn't be there to cover the full maternity leave....but your situation sounds different..so I'd hold off...my wife was in a different circumstance to you..best of luck+congrats!

This is a hard question..

Legally, they cannot fire you. However, in Indiana (where I live) it is a fire at will state, so technically.. they could fire you for 'other' reasons but still that be the reason they actually let you go for.

What kind of job is it? Does it entail a lot of heavy lifting or any other actions that might interfere or disrupt your pregnancy? If not then there's no reason why you couldn't continue your job and pregnancy until time to take medical leave. Good luck.

You are not required to tell them, and in most jurisdictions they are not allowed to fire you due to your pregnancy, HOWEVER if you work in an industry that is unsafe during pregnancy (certain chemical labs come to mind as an example), your employer will transfer you if at all possible. If they cannot give you a safer position within the company they may terminate your employment.

Since these issues vary from area to area, your best bet is to contact a local women's rights group for guidance. Best wishes to you and congrats!

I would wait and see what all the job is going to entail. Not to be deciptive but as you just found out, it takes a good 11 to 13 weeks to get out of the danger zone of miscarriage, and this question gets asked a ton on here and answered about 50-50 to tell or not to tell. Bottom line the choice is yours, but I would wait.

no allot of times theirs that waiting period like 3-6 months were its training or something were they can let u go if they feel you're not meshing well with their company. I would wait 4 months besides if u had a miscarriage u wouldn't have to explain to every one. Good Luck

Don't tell them till' your period of trial is over...most jobs are for a trial period. I recently got sacked two weeks into a new job because I told them I was pregnant...I couldnt do anything because they said it was for other reasons...hard to prove they sacked me for being pregnant but they did!
Tell them once you are sure that your trial period is up...if they ask why you didnt mention it then say that you hadnt even told family yet.

I think you should contact a legal professional to see how you are with this. I mean, if you are fired because you are pregnant, that is discrimination.

Also, how badly do you want the job? And how badly do you want the child?

You're in a dilemma here ... but definitely check your legal standing first.
