Melbourne has a contract to host the GP until 2010, but due to increasing costs (and losses), the Victorian Government (who pays the bills) has come under intense pressure to ditch the event. Bernie wants Melbourne to do night races but Melbourne said no. I hope we won't lose the GP! It's too far and too expensive for me to travel to overseas races.
Oh well, I'm going to enjoy it while I can. I have my tickets secured, my seat is on the grand stand metres away from the start finish line!

I would love to but i don't have the airfare. i have a good friend who has moved to Australia and i would dearly love to visit her too. It would be a great shame if Bernie fat wallet Ecclestone did take the Australian GP off the calendar. it seems all he wants to do is make money. he's on about making it a night race so we Europeans can watch it and with the same breath he wants to take away silverstone. I wish he would retire. (sorry ranting again!)

I can't, unfortunately. But when the right time comes, then I will go and watch the race live. I hope the FIA don't take away the Australian GP, it's one of my favourites! Plus, I don't think Webber will be too pleased if they make that decision.

I just hope its not kicked of the calender because it is a good circuit with lots of facilities and also a good place to watch a grand prix live.
