I was just singing to my daughter Nelly's song, "farasha" (butterfly). After I said "labsa bloza mi7'atata 3ala gonila mina2ata" (wearing a spotted blouse and a striped skirt) she immediately joined in the song saying "mila7'bata mila7'bata, ilhodoom mila7'bata!!!" Meaning, " messed up, mesed up, the clothes are messed up!!!" Apparently, she didn't appreciate the butterfly's sense of fashion! looooooool
So what's the funniest thing your kid said?!

I'm a fine artist (oil paintings mostly). One day we're walking down the street and she says "I want to be a painter when i grow up" Beaming with pride I look over at her and she's staring at some guys painting a fence white. Not what I had in mind but too cute for words anyway.
But the cutest thing was when she was 2 and a half years old. We were crossing the street and she momentarily let go of my hand to fix her shoe. I said very calmly: "Dasha, please don't ever let go of my hand when we're crossing the street."
I've never even raised my voice to her because she takes everything her mother and I say very seriously, sometimes a little too seriously, I didn't realize it at the time but she was very upset with herself for letting go of my hand.
About an hour later, we're coming back from the store and I'm carrying 4 bags of groceries and she's holding 1 of my fingers as she often did. Well, as we crossed this tiny little alley I had to take my finger away for a second to shift the weight of the bags. She was all over me. "Daddy! You don't ever let go of a little girls hand when your crossing the street!!! I'm telling mommy about this!" So I said: "Well then I'm telling mommy about when YOU let go of MY hand earlier." after a few seconds of thinking about it she says: "Okay we won't tell mommy anything but lets both never do that again."
It was her first plea bargain. She's a virgo, when she was around 2 or 3 she do things like bring me a pair of scissors and say: "Daddy these were left where I could reach them you should put them away."

Oh ya farou7a, I have tons of cutie memories as i call them.
When Nadine was about 2 yrs old and couldn't get her words right i was teaching her colors in Arabic i wud say Abyad (white) and she wud say ayabd, no matter how many times i repeated that color she wud never get it right. Some friends of my husband heard her and they started calling her by that name as sort of a pet name. "AYABD".
One day i was hugging her and saying Nadine mama betmout feeky (loves you so much), she looked at me and said mama Nadine amoutek afetek. Lol i said what? and she repeated it again. I never tried to change that, i thought it was the best i love you i could ever hear. Ever since then it has been always amoutek afetek.
I have more and more, but enough for now.......
@ Arabian Dune: as we say in Egypt Basraa. I suppose you know what Nadine means right? ;-)
It means Hope in Russian. Salam.

well i don't have any children but my mum was looking after a little girl was was around 3 and very cleaver and hates being wrong.
Well she had her shoes on the wrong feet. My mum asked her why do you have your shoes on the wrong feet she replied they fit better this way.
I find that quite funny.

When she was 3 , and after her baby brother was born - she was playing with the nativity scene while I ran her a bath. When I came around the corner to get her, I hear her exclaim, "Bad Baby Jesus!" She then put him in time out for knocking over the animals.
