I'm not the bravest person in the world and I admire our brave Heroes. Police, Firemen, Emergency people, Soldiers.and the common man who doesn't get the credit but does the deed-and etc
I have been tested a couple times in this. I did risked my own for some I loved. There was no forethought to it. .It was an immediate response. And I did risk my life. And I saved theirs.
I do value my life and I wouldn't want to be put to such a test. I don't know if I would walk into a burning fire. I have often wondered how" far "I would go in certain given circumstances. I hope I always make the right decisions here. I hope we all do.
I think many would give theirs for people they care for if a choice was given. I think if the choice was mine--than yes I would. Judging from previous events in my life.
But we know to from history stories this is not always the case (half and half)--though many swear they would.
I guess we all must be tested to be sure.

It depends on the situation, if a friend is dying from a medical condition or old age, etc and they wish to seek relief from their suffering and just stop trying to hang on and they wish to go with god, then theirs but if you mean would I give up my life for a friend in such a matter as in a hostage situation or something like that, then yes. If they are a friend it is someone who I care for deeply and value very much but I do value my own life just as much but it is that love for another that would be stronger of the two. It is also my faith in god and myself to know that I would do what is right for me. So to answer yes I would not to say that I wouldn't be scared but I would. Funny though I have already been in a couple of situations before where I could have died while trying to help a friend but I didn't I guess i was lucky but still all in all true friends I hold close to my heart and I value you them very much and they know it. I love my friends and would never want them to ever suffer or be scared or faced with an early death.

My very best friend died of cancer last year and for a while I genuinely wished I could take his place.
But then my doubts about the "hereafter" (if any?) took over and I could not decide who was really better off.
Given the option now I would think of our comparitive ages and possibly our usefulness to mankind in the future(if any?) - and probably do the cowardly thing. It must be impossible to really know what one would do without experiencing the real situation - don't you think?

Mine. I already know my address for when Ieave this old earth and that to the golded gates of heaven. So I would save my friend's life as I'm not sure if they know where they're going should they die.

We are out hunting when suddenly a bear attacks. You start to run and I calmly sit down and begin to change from hunting boots into track shoes. You stop, jump up and down screaming about a bear attack and that we have to hurry up and run away. 'What are you doing?' you ask.
