How do I get to the umbra and abyssal floors on Final Fantasy 12?

To get to the lower floors of The Pharos, you must place Black Orbs in each corner of the floors. Like the above poster stated, if you don't pick up the Black Orbs and let them collect together, they will triple in amount. Here is the amount of Black Orbs each floor requires:

LEVEL - Penumbra
Northeast - 18 Black Orbs
Northwest - 9
Southeast - 3
Southwest - 6

LEVEL - Umbra
NE - 15
NW - 9
SE - 15
SW - 18

LEVEL - Abyssal
NE - 15
NW - 21
SE - 27
SW - 12

Be careful, there are some extremely tough enemies in the lower levels of the Pharos. I recommend using Bubble. Also, there are Magick Pots in these lower levels too, and they are invulnerable to attacks unless you give them an Elixir or a Megalixir. You can steal it back from them though, but it may take a few tries. Good luck, this is one of the toughest areas in the game.

oh lord you need to be level 80 at least to have a chance and protect haste AND BUBBLE YOU WILL NEED BUBBLE any way after killing cid you are back in rhidorea go back to the pharos first accent the lift will say pnumbra or something like that you need to run like mad in to on of the side room and kill monsters to get black orbs if you leave the orbs a big orb with 3xthe amount appears use them to put the orbs in the pedastal of night in each of the side rooms do this until all for pedasals glow the lift will take you to the next floor do the same on this then the next floor as well after the lift will say ???? the seer is there if thats what your after
