Hi everybody;
I got married by arrangement at the age of 18.
Two months to my 18th birthday to be exact.
Not too bad as I was quite attracted to my husband.
Unfortunately, just 9 months later, we were in a car accident in which I lost our unborn baby and my husband at the same time.
It took a while to get over it, but I am now 20 years and 10 months old and have only recently become sexually active again.

Question:
Why is it that some people out here on Yahoo Q+A think that I am a whore?
I have found a freedom that is new to me, and am very exited about that. I feel like a teenager again.
Can that be so very wrong?????

A whore?
Oh, so these people expect you to live like a woman in an 18th century western society? Or like the poor girls in india? Who are sometimes cremated alive with their husbands because they are considered unpure and whores after their husband dies? Is THAT it? These people need to grow out of 18th century ideals, and draw back from the expectations of sexist and discriminatory cultures! (It's not just Indian culture. There's more, and those are the same cultures that are depreciated on our TV's and by the people).
I'm so sorry about your baby and your husband. That experience is something I think is unbelievably tragic to happen to anyone. It's fantastic you're getting your life back on track. Finding someone new and restarting your life is what's important. No one has the right to call you anything but brave.

At 20 years old you shouldnt be considered a whore. As long as you aren't sleeping with 20 people a month. People that state those types of things are ignorant and don't understand the circumstance. I think its very powerful because you have been mourning the loss of your husband for two years...you have given yourself enough grievance time, development, and soul searching after your husband and baby's death. Kudos to you. I wish you nothing but happiness, and if you are sexually active please take all your precautions and best wishes. The loss of a child and a husband is devastating and until those ignorant people know what you have been through they have no right to be rude. Congratulations on your overcomings and good luck to you in all your endeavours.

Wow - thats a complex one.
I think that your personal life is just that - PERSONAL. Dont share it with just anyone. I know you are meant to be getting impartial advice but people do have opinions and feelings too and whilst some people will view your comments with an impartial eye and not feel anything one way or the other, it may touch a raw nerve (for god knows what reason) in others.
I think that you are entitled to become sexually active again - but you owe it to yourself especially to keep yourself clean and safe. Youve only got one body - look after it.
Dont post really personal feelings etc on these forums - you will be leaving yourself wide open to have potshots taken at you!
Good luck.

Name calling is a hobby on Yahoo Answers unfortunately...but anyways you're not a whore, you are just having fun. There's nothing wrong with being sexually active-to a point though. Yeah if you go around throwing yourself at every guy you see and sleep with them, that would indefinitely make those accusations true.

Never mind what others say. They're not living your life. You are. Unfortunately you had to learn a very sad lesson at a very young age but now you realize just how precious life is. The important thing is to move forward. Be careful & good luck.

some people can be so narrow minded but you need to be open minded as well tha you cannot please everybody. If you feel like being a teen again that is your life but dont expect everybody to agree on that. You just have to be sure that is what makes you happy. If you are indeed happy with it, then dont bother about those people who do not understand.

Btw, I am sorry for your loss! It must have been so hard. I hope you can find hapiness...

Who cares what others think and say (especially here of Yahoo). If this story is true, you've gone through a hell of a lot and no one here knows what you feel. Make sure you're getting therapy for your losses. Make sure you are healthy enough to get involved in sexual relationships and you're doing it for the right reasons.

That is sad and no-one needs that so young in their lives, as for people on yahoo all I can say is that some people like to be nasty, very nasty, so don't worry about them.

If you feel freedom and are not feeling guilty then good on you, it is never wrong, it is You that can decide On when its right too date again.

If you are 20 and sexually active , you are perfectly healthy physically and mentally. A whore is one who indulges in sex for cash . I am sure you are not one. Having more partners again is not medically advisable. Marry someone and live happily ever after.
All the best.
