Home dye hair colours can be notorious for bad side effects regardless of pregnancy and if it is not one you use on a regular basis, then I would not risk it.

Just recently there was a report about hair dyes causing some majoy damage to users like severe allergic reaction causing hair melting to scalp, scalp burning, eye damage etc....I think it was on today tonight or a current affair ( in australia)

I would spend the extra money and go to the hairdresser as a) it is going to be a better job anyway and b) they can advise on the type of product to use.

The lower priced hair dyes also seem to be the ones causing the most damage but others can too. As I said, if its not a dye you have been using regularly and no it doesn't affect you, I wouldn't take the risk pregnant or not (espcially pregnant actually)

i used loreal feria permanent hair dye while pregnant,, i asked my gyno first and he said it was safe!, xxxxxxxxxxxx
he did say to do it near a window or door so u dont inhale the fumes

It's not that it isn't safe. It's that your chemical balance in your body is off. Don't dye your hair until after the baby is born.

You're not supposed to dye your hair until baby is born. Check with your doctor too.
