Are you running x4 or x8 AGP?
Big diff. But otherwise, yeah price/quality, if it's a decent brand.
Don't think 9600 was offered as PCI, if it does you're shot for 99% of the stuff from the past odd years.

As an upgrade for the GeForce2MX 440, it is an upgrade, however it is only just one generation above your MX440.
Todays games? Heck no.
Sadly, games like Bioshock requires at least a GeForce 6600. That equals to an RadeonX1550 or faster hardware. Sadly, the the Radeon 9600 is one generation behind the Radeon X1550.
It's because the most recent games require something that the 9600 doesn't have.... Sorry.

not recommended... the 9600 will be crappy in abt half a yr time...
i suggest spending slightly more for a GeForce 6600GT instead, preferably with GDDR3 (another variation is DDR2, which is slower)... if u have a decent setup, this card would even allow u to play games at mid-setting
and this cards does come in AGP flavour, though it is a native PCI-E card, u may need to shop harder for it, cuz it was pulled off the shelf real quick when the GeForce 7600 was introduced
as for the AGP speed, it doesn't make much difference for a mid-end card like 6600, so dun need to worry abt it...
another alternative would be GeForce 7300GT (the one without suffix sucks), or Radeon X1300XT (again the one without suffix also sucks), bothe have AGP versions as well

Radeon 9600 is a excellent video card. It should play today's games with no problem. But, you need to make sure you have enough memory on your mother board also. 128mb is good. I don't know how old or what type of computer you have. But that should work great.

Pointless ... its an obsolete card by almost any standard. Even if its cheap its not worth it. Even on the lowest settings its going to struggle with current games.
Although if you're running a machine with an MX-440 I'd suggest you upgrade/replace that rather.

It's worth it at that price. It's significantly better than your old card. Overclock that 9600 Pro with ATI Tool and you get up to about 20% boost. It could even play COH at low settings.
